| Makk watercolor paintings are executed in the purist technique where the use of white paint is not permissible at all. The purity of the pristine paper is used all the way through the painting where white is desired. The difficulty of this technique can not be emphasized as it takes great effort and care to foresee the areas where the white of the paper must be reserved for the whites of eyes or the shine of cheekbones, paths of sunlight for example. One slip of the brush can ruin the entire piece. The effort is well worth it however, as Makk watercolors vibrate and burn with an intensity close to that found in the Makk original oils.
